Peziza saniosa Schrad. (illustrated over life size) Cup 1–1.5cm across, shallowly concave; inner surface dark blue-black, yielding bluish juice, outer dark grey-brown, scurfy. Spores 14–16.5×7–9¼, coarsely warted, containing 2 oil drops. Asci 250×13¼. Habitat on the ground in woods; late summer to autumn. Rare. Not edible.
