Coral Spot Nectria cinnabarina (Tode) Fr. (illustrated 95% life size) Fruit body colonial, of 2 types: perithecial fructification comprising crowded, cinnabar-red flasks on a cushion-shaped base; conidial state similar, but forming coral-pink pustules. Spores 12–25Γ—4–9ΒΌ, cylindrical-ellipsoid with a single cross-wall. Asci 70Γ—12ΒΌ. Habitat on dead wood; all year. Very common. Not edible.
