Dhansak Masala

This is the compound powdered spice used in seasoning not only dhansak, the emblematic Parsi dish, but many others. It can be left out, but the taste of the finished dish will not be traditionally correct. The term dhana jiru (see above) is often used interchangeably with dhansak masala.
