Anise

These aromatic seeds have the flavour of aniseed and are available whole and powdered. Anise is used in spicy dishes, desserts, cakes and pastries, sweet dishes, creams and confectionery. Use sparingly and add at the beginning of cooking, as overheating will spoil its flavour. Green anise leaf is used as a flavouring in European and Arab countries.
