The West has been a little slow in discovering the delights of this fragrant citrus scent, but it is now sought after these days as a scent in soaps and hand lotions. I used to pluck fresh leaves off my sister’s thorny plant and smuggle them into the US where they would keep in my freezer for months until I needed them. To use these leaves, characterised by double leaves along one stem, slice off the middle rib, then roll the leaves and slice finely.
