A Passion for Desserts

  • About
Ice cream right out of the machine tastes incredible but is often too soft to scoop. It needs to set up, or “harden off,” in the freezer. To quicken this process, I prefreeze my container for 30 minutes before I fill it with the newly churned ice cream. If your freezer freezes your ice cream so hard it is difficult to scoop, place the ice cream in the refrigerator for 10 to 15 minutes, then scoop it.
Ice cream always tastes wonderful, but should only be part of a dessert when needed to round out the flavor. With some desserts, adding ice cream may make the overall taste too intense.
