Use 1 cup of rice to just over 2 cups of liquid (190g/6¾oz rice to 535ml/18¾fl oz water).
Put the rice in a saucepan and add the water. Bring to the boil, then simmer over the very lowest heat, or bake in a very low oven for about 2 hours, uncovered, until creamy.
Cover tightly, remove from the heat and leave to stand for 20 minutes.
