Brown rice is my go-to grain. It doesn’t need much explanation other than I use two varieties— short-grain brown rice and long-grain brown rice. Short-grain brown rice is a little stickier and chewier, and long-grain brown rice is fluffier and the grains stay separated. Brown rice, depending on the variety, takes between 35 and 45 minutes to cook. I don’t use minute rice or fast cooking rice brands in my recipes.
