  • About
When money was tight, I would go foraging for all kinds of things. A popular choice for me was apples to make stewed apples to pimp up my porridge. You can find apples everywhere: in cities, woodlands, gardens, parks and even along the streets. You know they are ready to be picked when they come away from the branch complete with the stalk. If you are gathering apples from the floor, make sure you check for wasps and worms. Wild apples are full of nutrients, which are great for digestion and aid the liver. Apples are associated with magic, paradise and the gift of knowledge. Foraging apples is known as “scrumping” and has been done for hundreds of years. It is said that to share love is to share an apple, so if you share half of your apple with the one you love, passion will grow between you and be as fruitful as a tree grown from an apple pip.
