  • About
An American apple, born in New York in 1906 by crossing the Ben Franklin and McIntosh varieties. Cortlands are mostly dark red with yellow patches. The skin is shiny and slightly oily to the touch. They have a slightly tart flavor and the flesh has excellent resistance to browning when cut. Season: Late fall, but its good keeping quality makes it available most of the year.
