Empire

This crisp, tasty all-purpose American apple was created by crossing McIntosh with Red Delicious, which produced its green skin with large red spots and/or streaks. Its flavor is similar to McIntosh, but it keeps longer and does not bruise as easily. Season: Generally available year round.
