White Astrachan

This apple originated in Russia and is one that I grew up eating in Sweden. It is a great apple for all culinary uses. It has a tart flavor, a crisp bite, and firm white flesh. The skin is green and yellow, with blush to darker pink stripes. The Red Astrachan apple has similar characteristics. Season: Early to late fall. Not a good keeper.
