This hardy variety is the exception to the usual roundish apple shape found in most Asian pears; it is instead pyriform, meaning pear-shaped. This pear basically looks like an overripe Bartlett with a white to yellow skin. The flesh is aromatic, with a mild, sweet taste. These pears ripen in early October.
