  • About
This was the first species imported to the United States but, because of its susceptibility to Panamanian wilting disease, it has been replaced, for the most part, by the Cavendish. Gros Michel is one of the most delicious bananas and is still a favorite of many when the fruit can be found. The fingers are 7 to 9 inches (17.5 to 22.5 cm) long and the peel is bright yellow.
