  • About

Named for Rudolph Boysen, who created this hybrid by crossing a blackberry, a loganberry, and a raspberry. This trailing dewberry variety is grown in California. The berries are large and long—up to 1¼ inches (3.1 cm)—and they turn reddish black when they are ripe. Boysenberries have an excellent flavor but are not quite as sweet as youngberries. Midsummer.
