  • About

The shape and skin of this melon, a member of the muskmelon family, looks similar to a small watermelon with a long, oval body and a splotchy green and yellow skin. Inside, however, the flesh is yellowish green, with a flavor much like a honeydew melon. It can grow up to 12 inches (30 cm) in length and weigh up to 10 pounds (4 kg 550 g). Also known as Santa Claus melon, Christmas melon is so named because its peak season is in December.
