Used as aromatics and flavorings in cooking and in producing alcoholic beverages. Essential oils are usually extracted from roots, seeds, flowers, and leaves of plants. Examples are peppermint oil, almond oil, and citrus oils. Essential oils are also used in the perfume industry because of their long-lasting scent.
