  • About
German for “gold water.” This full-bodied liqueur is pale yellow in color and flavored with caraway seed, orange peel, and spices. It has flecks of edible gold leaf suspended throughout; these are harmless to drink. The best-known brand is Danziger Goldwasser, made in Germany. Goldsläge, made in Switzerland, is another brand and is flavored with cinnamon.
