  • About

Grapefruit are divided into two groups: the pigmented or pink varieties, and the common grapefruit, also called white grapefruit (although they are actually yellow). The fruit of both varieties grow in grapelike clusters, which explains the name. The grapefruit tree is one of the largest in the citrus family, which makes sense, as grapefruit is the largest fruit of the commercially important citrus crops. The only citrus fruit that is larger than the grapefruit is the thick-skinned pummelo, which is the parent of the grapefruit we know today.
