  • About

There are two types of lemons: sweet and acid. The latter are the more popular of commercially grown lemons, the bulk of which are either Eureka (recognizable by a short neck at the stem end) or Lisbon (on which the blossom end appears as a pointed nipple). Lisbons are just about seedless as well, which is also true of the sweet, roundish (no neck or nipple), thin-skinned Meyer lemon. Lemons originated in India and are a member of the citrus family. Today they are grown in the Mediterranean, the United States, Canada, South America, Asia, Australia, and Africa.
