  • About
For good reason, lingonberries are known in my native Sweden as “the red gold of the forest.” Although they are cultivated to some extent, the majority grow wild all over the country, especially in the north. Lingonberries ripen in September. It is a popular recreational activity for many Swedish families to invade the forest at this time and harvest their plot of berries, the location of which is kept secret throughout the year. Lingonberries thrive in partly sunny openings in the woods and where moss is abundant.
