A sweet dessert wine made from Muscat grapes. Muscat grapes are grown in a few places in the Mediterranean region, California, Australia, and near the village of Beaumers-de-Venise, France. The color of the Muscat grape can range from golden to pale amber-red to black as can the wine depending on the grape it is made from. Muscatel wine has the same musty flavor associated with the muscat grapes.
