  • About
A thick porridge made from hulled, sliced (steel-cut oats are considered the best), and cooked oats. Instant oatmeal is produced from instant oats (groats that have been precooked and dried before they are rolled), which turn into mush with the addition of a liquid. Instant oatmeal is usually flavored with salt, sugar, and other flavoring agents and is often sold in individual serving packets.
