Comice

Oringinated in France. The name is an abridgement of the French doyenne du comice, which means “top of the show.” The large, roundish fruit has a green-yellow skin that can be rather tough. The flesh is unequalled in aroma and flavor, making it one of the best dessert pears. Season: Late.
