Originated in New York in the mid-1700s. This is a very small fruit, reddish-brown blushed over yellow. Its best feature is its unusually small size. Though it can be poached, it is great for eating fresh, it looks (and tastes) especially good served with cheese. Seckel pears do not keep well. Season: Midseason.
