  • About

Originated in Syria. Damson is a shorted version of this plum’s original name. When the Crusaders brought it to Europe, they called it Damascene, meaning “the plum from Damascus.” This small bluish to purple fruit has golden flesh that is juicy, with a slightly acidic flavor. This is a traditional antique plum for jams and preserves. Variety: European; midseason.
