Originated in Syria. This very small and round cherry-sized fruit has yellow skin with a red flesh. The flesh is firm, juicy, and sweet and can be seen through the thin, fine skin. It is one of the classic European plums used for cooking and for making the famous German eau-de-vie Mirabellan Geist. Variety European: midseason.
