A pear-flavored eau-de-vie from Switzerland. This clear, colorless liqueur is used to add flavor to numerous pastries and confections. Some brands of Poire Williams actually have a whole pear inside the bottle. To achieve this, the bottle must be placed over the budding pear; the pear then grows inside the bottle.
