An edible translucent paper made either from a mixture of rice flour and water or from the pith of the rice paper plant and water. It is usually flavorless and packaged in rectangular, square, or round sheets. Rice paper should be kept dry or it will dissolve. It has many uses in the kitchen: baking sheet liner, separator for the stacked tiers of wedding cakes, to wrap foods that are to be deep-fried.
