One of the most decorative and unusual food plants, Japanese wineberries are small and golden in color, ripening to a light red shade. These raspberry lookalikes are juicy and refreshing, with a flavor similar to grapes. If Japanese wineberries are not in season or are unavailable to you, use one of the many similar berries on the market, such as red, black, or yellow raspberries, blackberries, and the numerous hybrids that have been developed as a result of crossing various Rubus species. Loganberries, boysenberries, and dewberries are examples of these.
