Mixers in which the mixing bowl rotates (in addition to the rotation of the attachment arm) during operation. Two separate motors power the mixer bowl and the attachment arm. These mixers are used exclusively for kneading bread and bagel dough and are also known as bagel mixers. Spiral mixers do not have interchangeable bowls or attachments. Models may feature either attached or removable mixing bowls. These mixers are very heavy (1000 to 2000 pounds/455 to 910 kg) but come equipped with front casters and rear wheels so that they can be moved for cleaning.
