Also known as a pastry scraper, this hand tool is made from a thin and flexible yet sturdy piece of plastic that measures approximately 5½ inches (13.7 cm) long by 3½ inches (8.7 cm) tall and has a curved edge on one long side. The tool is flexible enough to bend so that it can be pressed tightly against interior of a mixing bowl to scrape down the contents. Bowl scrapers are also handy for removing dough from a rolling pin because they can be bent to fit the curve of the pin, and they are used for some of the same purposes as bench scrapers.
