A round ceramic form with straight sides. Soufflé dishes generally have a fluted pattern on the outside. Soufflés are baked and served in the same form. The two most common sizes for individual servings are 3¼ inches (8.1 cm) in diameter, with a capacity of approximately 5 ounces (150 ml), and 4¼ inches (11.2 cm) in diameter, which holds about 1 cup (240 ml). The largest size has a capacity of 2 quarts (1 L 920 ml) and serves eight to ten.
