Made for the food industry, this is a great tool for checking the temperature in dishwashers, refrigerators, and freezers. It is a probe-style thermometer that records both the highest and lowest temperature reached over a specified period. Although commercial dishwashers are required to contain built-in thermometers, one would have to stay and read the thermometer throughout the entire cycle to be certain that the water reached the minimum sanitation temperature required by NSF standards. Because this thermometer is waterproof, it can be placed in an automatic dishwasher along with the dishes; when the cycle is finished, the device will show the highest and lowest temperatures reached throughout. Along the same lines, this thermometer can be placed in the walk-in or freezer to check temperature fluctuation over a specified period.
