  2. Most live lobsters have both claws intact. A lobster with only one claw is called a cull. A pistol is missing both claws.

    Hot pack refers to canned, retorted (heated) lobster that is shelf-stable.

    Cold pack refers to canned lobster that has not been retorted and so must be kept frozen.

    A popsicle pack is a whole cooked lobster packed with brine in a plastic sleeve and frozen.

    The term CK, or claws and knuckles, indicates cooked meat from claws and legs only, no tail meat.
