  • About
Nine times out of ten I freeze ground cherries as my preservation method of choice. Simply transfer the whole lot, husk and all, into a sealable freezer bag and pop them in the back of the freezer. They don’t need to be individually frozen because the husks keep them from sticking together. When you are ready to use them, simply remove from the freezer and remove the husks by squeezing the fruit from their paper lanterns. This is easier to do when they are frozen (versus fresh) because you can be more aggressive with your squeezing and not damage the fruit inside.
