Melon freezes very well. Simply peel, remove the seeds from the muskmelon, and cut into a large dice. Lay the melon on a baking sheet to individually freeze and, when fully frozen, bag up for storage for up to 6 months.
- My favorite thing to do with frozen melon is to blend it with a bit of simple syrup to make sorbet. It takes less syrup than the Sorbet recipe because melon is often very sweet. For every 1 lb [455 g] of frozen fruit add ¼ cup [60 ml] of Simple Syrup and a squeeze of lemon or lime, then blend in a blender to make a creamy sorbet.
