  • About
Also called “Firewater,” this liquor made from sugarcane is flavored with aniseed. The alcohol content is 28 percent (56 proof); it is dry (not sweet), and served in shot glasses. If you can’t find it, you can substitute vodka and aniseed extract, or an anise-flavored liqueur.
