  • About

cowpeas Cowpeas are legumes, whole peas, eaten both fresh and dried in India, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. They originated in Africa, traveled early to India and Europe, and then came to North America with the African slave traffic, and also probably with immigrants from the Mediterranean. They are very like black-eyed peas, but slightly smaller.
