habanero chiles Lantern-shaped habaneros (meaning “from Havana”) are among the hottest chiles around. Known as Scotch bonnet chiles in Jamaica, they have a slightly sweet flavor and may be bright green to yellow to orange-red. They are sold in Mexican and Caribbean markets and in some grocery stores.
