  • About

toovar dal Also known as toor dal, these skinned and split yellow lentils are golden straw to ocher in color. They often come oiled (with castor oil, to preserve them), and look a little like small split peanuts. Oiled toovar dal should be rinsed off in hot water before using. Toovar dal takes longer to cook than masur dal or mung dal.
