gobindavog Sometimes labeled “gobindobhog” or “Kalijira, ” this medium-grain rice from Bengal and Bangladesh has needle-shaped grains, like basmati, but in miniature. It is available from some specialty shops and by mail order (see Mail-Order Sources). It is cooked plain or can be used for pilafs and also for making rice pudding.
