mochi gome This is the Japanese name for Japanese-style short- to medium-grain sweet rice (sticky rice). It is used for making mochi and sweets as well as for red rice. It must be soaked before cooking. When cooked, it is very sticky and clumped together with a slightly sweet taste. See sticky rice.
