Filling a Pastry Bag

  • About
When selecting a pastry bag, first choose one not too small, or you may find it difficult to keep the filling from creeping out the end as you pipe. Next, slide the decorating tip you wish to use inside it to the end. (You may need to snip the bag’s opening a little to accommodate the size of your tip.) Twist the bag a few times just behind the tip, and push this twisted section into the tip itself. This seals the end of the bag so that it can be filled.
Fold the bag about halfway down to form a cuff that covers your hand. This makes filling easier and keeps your hand clean at the same time.
