These leaves are dark green in colour, usually long in shape and frizzy at the tips. They need a lot of careful washing because they have a lot of grit. This chicory is usually of a bitter taste, but it is in the way we prepare it that it loses that, most of the work is in the chopping and washing. You will be able to find Hindbeh in good Middle Eastern shops.
