  • About

The world’s largest tree-grown fruit, the jackfruit can weigh upwards of 20 lbs. The bumpy green skin peels back to reveal bright orange, striated pods with large, mahogany-colored, oval seeds. The pulp surrounding the seed is about ¼ inch thick and has a unique resilient, bouncy texture. The flavor is reminiscent of Juicyfruit Gum. The seeds are also edible and taste terrific when boiled for about 20 minutes. They’re delicious eaten with a mixture of sweetened grated coconut seasoned with salt. Jackfruit strips are used in shaved ice snacks and beverages. Thai: khanoon; Malay: nangka; Vietnamese: mίt
