  • About
This is a relatively new white grape variety in Australia, transplanted from Alsace in France. It produces a rich, ripe style of wine with good length of palate. A popular variety in northern Italy as well, it is known there as ‘pinot grigio’ and has a lighter, drier style than its French cousin. To date, there are only a few vintners in Australia — in Victoria and Tasmania — producing either of these varieties. However, given our interest in producing wines to match our food, it is only a matter of time before we see this wine fully realise its potential. You can determine the style of the wine by the name (‘gris’ or ‘grigio’) and information given on the label.
