This fiercely hot fermented chilli paste is made by adding powdered red chilli and glutinous rice powder to soybean paste and aging this mixture in the sun. With a unique mix of hot, sweet, salty and sour tastes gochujang is the most popular and indispensable ingredient in Korean cooking. Traditionally made at home, gochujang is now found in every food store in Korea.
