Regular sugar is the granulated sugar found in 1-, 5-, and 10-pound bags on the supermarket shelf and in almost every kitchen’s sugar bowl. It is the most common sugar for everyday use and is the white sugar called for in most home-baking recipes. In commercial food processing or baking, this same granulated sugar is called fine or extrafine sugar. It is ideal for bulk handling because its fine crystals are not susceptible to caking.
