Waffle Iron

The hand-held version with long handles can be used on gas or an electric hob, and may produce traditionally heart-shaped waffles. Easier and more foolproof to use is the electric waffle iron, with non-stick grill plates. Some electric waffle irons have reversible plates so they can double as sandwich toasters.
